3 Exercise Mistakes that
Slow Metabolism and Accelerate Body Aging...
By Dr. Jade Teta, Metabolic Expert and Author of Metabolic Aftershock
Which of the following exercises best helps optimize
your metabolism to burn fat?
- CrossFit
- Hot yoga
- Kettlebells
- Spin classes, jogging or other cardio
- High intensity interval training...
The answer is:
None of the above!
That's because most people commit 3 serious metabolism-slowing mistakes…
... mistakes that can lead to pre-mature aging, drained energy and increase fat storage!
Exactly the opposite of what you want and expect from a good workout.
I know this first hand because I’ve spent the past 15 years helping thousands of clients in my private practice fix the damage these mistakes have done to their metabolism.
Worse, these 3 mistakes inflame body tissues, increasing your risk for diseases like diabetes1, heart disease2 and Alzheimer's3.
So read on to see if you’re making any of these 3 mistakes. And if you are, please stop making them!. Later, if you’re interested, I will introduce you to a special program to help with this.
(Tip: I’ve also developed a “smart” alternative to ‘traditional’ exercise: a super-efficient workout program (just 15 minutes, 3x per week), customized to your personal metabolic type, that has received thousands of positive reviews. More on that below...)
Exercise Mistake #1: This Accumulates Abdominal Fat...

To burn more belly fat, just work out longer, right?
Wrong!
The longer you exercise, the longer your body is under stress. And when you're stressed, your body is flooded with cortisol, a stress hormone that tells the body to store belly fat and turn muscles and skin soft and saggy. And when that happens it can make you appear to be older than you really are.4
However, when you exercise the "smart" way based on your metabolic type, cortisol can actually help burn fat and firm-up soft muscle.5 More on that in a minute.
