Unhealthy Snacks Increase Genetic Risk for Cancer

People who have inherited mutations in DNA characteristic of Lynch syndrome have an increased risk of developing certain cancers, including endometrial and colorectal cancer, at an early age. Many studies have shown that colorectal cancer may be linked to certain foods, such as red meat and processed foods. Prospective studies have also shown an association between this cancer and the Western diet.
